Champions League: He ,made serious claims ahead of his former side’s,against Liverpool vs Barca

Former Liverpool manager, Kenny Dalglish, has made serious claims ahead of his former side’s game against Barcelona.

Barcelona head into the Champions League semi final second leg clash having three goals advantage over their Premier League hosts.

Dalglish said it is possible for Liverpool to score four goals and go through to the final.

He said that if the Reds can overturn Barcelona’s three-goal deficit then it will be their ‘greatest’ comeback in Europe.

Liverpool have a history of making epic comebacks in the Champions League, with their 2005 triumph in Istanbul one of their greatest ever games.

Anfield legend, Dalglish still believes Jurgen Klopp’s side can do the job in front of their own supporters.

“Of course, it’s hard to see any team scoring four against Barca to get through,” Dalglish told the Sunday Post.

“But I do think the tie is still open, and there remains a glimmer of hope. It would be foolish to say the tie is over.

“There is also a rich history of comebacks by Liverpool in Europe over the years, and that’s why I’d never rule out that being the case again.

“That said, if the players were to overturn this three-goal deficit against Barcelona, it would be the greatest comeback of them all, no question.

“Obviously, the key to it all is getting the first goal. Ideally, you score in the opening 15 minutes to settle everyone down and put real doubt in the minds of the Barcelona players. If that happens, then I wouldn’t rule anything out.”
